This time I'm sending you a video. Six minutes, and a controversial opinion: sustainability is not for every company.

As a mentor, I talk with sustainability professionals who are frustrated. Their company approves the compliance part, the minimum, and the projects they propose don't get approved. I think the reason is often the business model. To show it, I compare two products: an Apple mouse and a coaster I had at home (I don't remember what I paid for it, which already says something about the price).

If you work in sustainability, the useful question is which of the two your company looks like, or where in between it is. If the business model only needs the minimum, a more ambitious plan will be very hard to get approved.

A while ago I wrote about the kinds of companies that are a perfect match for sustainability. If you want to go further, here it is.

Which one do you work for? Tell me in the comments on YouTube.
